Who Am I?

I'm a former ESOL classroom teacher turned academic coach. For over 20 years, I met countless students who were struggling — not because they lacked intelligence, but because the system wasn't built for the way they learn. I created Different Minds Learn because every student deserves a teacher who sees them as an individual.

Today I work with students ages 8 and up with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, anxiety, and many other learning differences. My approach is strengths-based and structured. I know when a student feels safe, seen, and genuinely engaged, real learning becomes possible.

Beyond Just My Classroom

My passion for teaching deepened through raising my two beautiful sons on the autism spectrum. They showed me firsthand how powerful the right support can be. This experience has changed everything about how I teach.

"My daughter started rushing to her lessons. There was no pressure — just calm structure and respect for her pace. For a child with ASD, that makes all the difference."

Frequently Asked Questions

(E-mail me at Lauren@DifferentMindsLearn.com if you cannot find an answer to your question)

Students ages 8 and up who learn differently — including those with ADHD, dyslexia, autism, anxiety around language learning, or other diagnosed or undiagnosed learning challenges. I also welcome any student who simply needs a slower, more personalized, or more patient approach than a traditional classroom offers.

No, you do not. Many of my students have never received a formal diagnosis, and that's completely fine. What matters is that your child is struggling and needs support. If you're not sure whether my approach is right for your student, consider a free consultation.

Lessons are held online via Zoom, so the student can learn from anywhere in the world. If you opt for one-to-one classes, the lesson is entirely focused on your student's needs, pace, and interests. I am able to build each lesson around topics the student actually cares about. This is key to authentic, long-term learning!

Most of my lessons and programs are offered online — which means families anywhere in the world can access my support. However, if you are based in the Buenos Aires area, I occasionally offer hybrid-style opportunities as well as in-person workshops and book clubs. Reach out to find out what's available.

I work with students from age 8 and up — including teenagers and adults. There is no upper age limit. Whether your child is in primary school or your young adult is looking to build practical English skills, I tailor every lesson to where they are right now.

Most classes are designed for the average learner — fixed pace, fixed curriculum, one teacher for many students. My approach is the opposite: differentiated, explicit step-by-step instructions, flexible pacing, structured routines that reduce anxiety, and the use various supports (visual, written, and audio).  I genuinely get to know each student and build lessons around what motivates them, nothing out of a "cook book."

Just book a free 45-minute Zoom consultation. This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where we can talk about your student's needs, answer your questions, and see if we're a good fit. There is no obligation to continue after the consultation.

Pricing depends on the type of support, frequency, and duration of sessions, so rates reflect that level of individual attention. I am also able to offer small group class sessions, but still personalize them. Please reach out directly and I'll be happy to share details.

Yes! I speak Rioplatense (Argentine) Spanish am fully comfortable communicating with Spanish-speaking families. You are always welcome to reach out in Spanish.
